Irish Franciscan friars make first profession

Irish Dominican Vocations would like to congratulate our Franciscan brothers on the occasion of the first profession of two of their brothers yesterday. Brothers Vincent Finnegan (pictured above, on the left) from County Mayo and David Connolly from Cork city made profession in the Franciscan friary in Ennis, County Clare - having completed their novitiate year. The Franciscans are looking forward to receiving new novices in the week ahead.

In other Franciscan news, the Conventual Franciscan friars yesterday celebrated the solemn profession of Brother Rory Doyle OFMConv. It has been many, many years since the solemn profession of a Conventual Franciscan in that town. Brother Rory is the twin brother of Irish Dominican friar - Brian Doyle OP. Another Doyle brother, Jim, is a priest in the diocese of Ferns. Brother Rory is pictured on the right below, with his brothers.
